Canton Woman Charged With Driving With Suspended Driver's License (Canton, IL) -- A Canton woman is facing charges after she was found to be driving with a suspended driver's license last week. Canton police say they stopped a vehicle after observing 21-year old Sadie C. Collins driving in the area of North 14th Avenue and East Locust Street last Thursday morning at just after 12:30. Officers had information that Collins had a suspended driver's license. She was arrested for driving with a suspended Illinois Driver's License. Collins was given a notice to appear and released at the scene with an October Fulton County Court date.

Traffic Stop Results In Galesburg Woman’s Arrest (Canton, IL) -- A Galesburg woman was arrested following a traffic stop last week in Canton. Police say that a routine registration check was ran, which found that the owner of the vehicle, 19-year old Krisha A. Ericson was wanted on an active warrant. After making the stop, the driver of the vehicle was identified as Ericson. She was then arrested for the warrant, a 2008 Fulton County Warrant, ordinance violation, failure to appear for a curfew violation. Ericson was then taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed. She was unable to post bond and was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.

Peoria Man Accused In Carjacking Sentenced (Peoria, IL) -- A Peoria man accused in a carjacking that took place last October at UnityPoint Health Methodist was in Peoria County Circuit Court last week to be sentenced. Darren D. Evans reached a plea bargain and after pleading guilty to the carjacking was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Friday. Authorities say that a nurse was leaving a parking lot when she was struck in the head with a hand gun. She was then pulled from the vehicle. Police used video surveillance, which led to Evans arrest as well as co-defendant Niguel Griffin. Griffin is due in Peoria County Circuit Court later this week.

Teen Mother Charged With Dumping Newborn (Jacksonville, IL) -- A teenage mother is under arrest for abandoning her newborn baby in a dumpster in Jacksonville last Saturday. The baby boy was found after about 12 hours in the dumpster on West Lafayette Avenue and is in good condition. The young mother is charged as a juvenile with child abandonment and could face anything from probation to prison time if convicted.

State Trooper Hit On Interstate (Chicago, IL) -- A 28-year-old Illinois State Trooper is recovering after being hit by an alleged drunk driver. Officials say Leslie Thurow hit the trooper Saturday afternoon while he was conducting a traffic stop on I-294 near St. Charles Road. Thurow kept driving but later hit a different car, sending all six of the people inside to the hospital. Thurow is being held without bond because this isn't her first run-in with the law. Reports indicate this is her third DUI charge.

No Injuries In Car, Train Crash (Godfrey, IL) -- No injuries are being reported after a minor Amtrak versus car crash. Officials say the train hit the car on the tracks in Godfrey just before 4:00 yesterday afternoon. The train had just taken off from St. Louis and was headed toward Chicago. There were about 147 passengers on the train.
