Crime Stoppers Tip Leads To Arrest
(Canton, IL) -- A tip to Fulton County Crime Stoppers resulted in the arrest of a California man. Authorities say the received the tip Sunday afternoon at about 4:30 that Thomas P. Moore was at a residence located in the 700 block of North Avenue Cl. Upon arrival police found to men sitting on the porch of the residence. One of the men was More. He was wanted for two warrants. One a 2011 Tazewell County Warrant failure to appear domestic battery, the second was a 2010 Tazewell County Warrant failure to appear petition to revoke probation. During a search, More was found to be in possession of a hitter pipe used to smoke pot and also a plastic baggy that had a small amount of cannabis residue in it. Police also found him in possession of some prescription pills that were not his. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on several charges. He was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
Marietta Man Arrested On Warrant
(Canton, IL) -- A Marietta man wanted on a valid warrant was arrested earlier this week ikn Canton. Police say that 19-year old Tyler E. Thompson entered the Canton Police Department to ask officers questions in regard to another matter. Officers found that Thompson was wanted on a valid 2011 Fulton County Warrant for an ordinance violation. He was then arrested and processed on the warrant. Thompson was unable to post bond and was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
