Crops Continue To Mature Ahead Of Average
(Undated) -- Corn and soybeans are maturing ahead of the five year average as reported in the weekly crop report. State Crop Statisticial Mark Schleusener says after a warm and wet week, 72-percent of the corn crop is now dented. 14 percent of soybeans are turning color, with 78 percent of the crop rated in good to excellent condition. 97 percent of oats have been harvested and the third cutting of alfalfa is now 79 percent complete. Average statewide topsoil moisture is now rated as one percent very short, eight percent short, 82 percent adequate and nine percent surplus.
