Canton Teen Faces Drug Related Charges (Canton, IL) -- A Canton teen is facing charges after she allegedly led police on a chase while riding her bicycle. Officers say the 15-year old Canton female was spotted on 10th Avenue and was crossing Ash Street. The teen then attempted to elude authorities by cutting through yards. She was finally stopped in the 800 block of East Walnut Street. During their investigation, the teen was found to be in possession of a pack of cigarettes as well as a hitter pipe used to smoke pot. The juvenile was given a city ordinance citation for being out past curfew and for possession of tobacco by a minor. The teen was then arrested and charged for resisting a peace officer and for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was given a juvenile intake referral and for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was then released to the custody of a parent.
Canton Man Faces Charges After Police Dispatched To Disturbances (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing charges after Canton police were dispatched to the same address on North 8th Avenue three times in one day last week. Officers say that they were dispatched to the 600 block of North 8th for the third time last Tuesday night at just before 10:30 in regard to disturbing the peace. Police say that 35-year old Brian E. Hadsall was banging on the front door of the home when they arrived. He was then arrested on a disorderly conduct charge. Hadsall was given a notice to appear and released at the scene with a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.
Canton Woman Charged With Urinating In Public (Canton, IL) -- A Canton woman was arrested after she was observed urinating near a downtown Canton Tavern. Officers say they were patrolling northbound on Van Buren Street when they spotted a white female bent over in an alley behind Jack's Bar on East Elm Street. Police say that 54-year old Terry K. Alderson was urinating. Alderson was then given a city ordinance citation by police for public nuisance. Police say that she was extremely intoxicated. She was given an October Fulton County Court date Lewistown.
Party Bus Driver Arrested (Bloomington, IL) -- Bar patrons who climbed on Bob's Blue Night Limo bus for a ride home at the end of a Saturday night knew right away that something was amiss with their designated driver. The shuttle bus started moving with the doors open and people still standing in the entrance and others pounding on the sides to stop. Passengers called police and as they approached, the bus struck a guy wire on a utility pole. The party bus driver, 32-year-old Stephen McKenna of Bloomington, is now charged with aggravated DUI after he blew a point-one-75 during a field sobriety test, more than twice the legal limit.
Police Investigating Death Of McLean County Man (LeRoy, IL) -- An autopsy is scheduled today for the body of a man found in rural LeRoy. Police say the body was discovered Sunday morning lying on the side of County Road 26-hundred East. The coroner says the 26-year-old man lives in McLean County, but won't be identified until a relative has been contacted.
