(Undated) -- Ameren is asking the state for 206-point-four-million-dollar rate hike but that isn't sitting well with the Citizen's Utility Board. CUB Spokesman Jim Chilsen says the hike is supposed to help pay for upgrades to the power grid. Chilsen hopes they can help get that rate reduced so people aren't hit so hard in the pockets. He says improvements to the power grid, if done right, should pay for themselves in the long run. Chilsen says a decision about the rate hike could be coming soon and if approved, customers could see a difference on their bills starting in January.
