Canton Teen Charged With Underage Drinking

(Canton, IL) -- A Canton juvenile is facing underage drinking charges after being arrested near the Canton City Building over the weekend. Police say they stopped the 15-year old Canto female while she was walking near the city building on Sunday morning at just before 4 a.m. Police say that the teen appeared to be intoxicated. She was then talken inside the city building to the police department where she was processed on a charge of unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. The teen was then given a juvenile intake referral before being released to the custody of a parent. She was also given a warning in regard to a curfew violation.

Canton Man Facing Multiple Charges After Police Respond To Disturbances

(Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing charges after police responded to an address on East Ash Street on Monday. Authorities say they were called to the home located in the 900 block of East Ash six times on Monday, the last being just before 9 p.m. Each time authorities were dispatched to the home in was in regard to an intoxicated man causing problems with residents at the home.The sixth time, officers found the man sitting behind the steering wheel and appeared to be intoxicated. The man was identified as 42-year old Cory A. Johnson. He was given several field sobriety tests, which he allegedly failed. He was arrested on a charge of DUI and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed. He was also charged additional with DUI over .08. Johnson was unable to post bond and was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown.
