Quinn Says Illinois Economy Is Strong

(Chicago, IL) -- Governor Pat Quinn says he believes that the state's economy is strong. His Republican challenger Bruce Rauner says data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows the state leads the Midwest in job losses this year. Quinn says the state's unemployment rate has dropped since he took office. Quinn says Illinois has the highest wages compared to its neighbors. Rauner says the BLS data shows Illinois has lost 42-hundred jobs since the beginning of the year. He also says more people have left the workforce than have gained jobs since Quinn took office.
