Healthcare Coalition Calls For Acetaminophen Education

(Washington, DC) -- National healthcare providers say the public needs more information about more than 600 over-the-counter drugs. The Acetaminophen Awareness Coalition has launched a new "Know Your Dose" campaign to stop consumers from overdosing on America's most common drug ingredient. Doctor Kathleen Wilson also says if people go over the four-thousand milligrams dosage per day it could lead to liver damage. The AAC's "Know Your Dose" initiative is a national program to educate retailers, consumers and physicians on how to properly use the right amount of doses with products that contain acetaminophen. Studies show that more than 50-million Americans use a medicine that has acetaminophen in it.
