Three Arrested In Canton On Drug Charges (Canton, IL) -- Three individuals were arrested after being spotted standing near a closed business at the intersection of South 5th Avenue and East Grant Street. Police say they were on patrol on Sunday, August 10th at just before 2 in the morning when they spotted three females. The three were spotted near Central Illinois Loan. One of the females was identified as 18-year old Amber M. Ward of Canton. The other two were juveniles, a 16-year old female and a 14-year old female, both also of Canton. After an investigation, police say they charged with 16-year old with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, illegal possession of tobacco by a minor, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and a curfew citation. The 14-year old was charged with possession of tobacco by a minor, unlawful possession of cannabis under 2.5 grams and a curfew citation. Ward was charged with unlawful possession of cannabis under 2.5 grams, possession of alcohol by a minor and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. After being given a notice to appear, Ward was released with a notice to appear she was given a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. The two teens were given juvenile intake referals and were then released to their parents. Landlord/Tenant Dispute Leads To Arrest (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing charges after Canton police were dispatched to an incident involving a landlord and a tennant. P9olice say it happened Tuesday afternoon at 80 North Main Street in Canton at about 1. During their investigation, police determined that 64-yewar old Rosolina Puleo was arguing with a former tenant who had been evicted as well as a second female. Police say they second female was not supported to be on the property. During the argument, its alleged that Puleo slapped a 31-year old female in the back of the head and kicked her in the leg. Police then charged Puleo with battery. He was taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on the charge. Puleo was given a notice to appear and was then released. He has a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Canton Man Arrested On Valid Warrant (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man who was wanted on a valid warrant was arrested last week. Canton police say they located 31-year old Kevin H. Smith at the Canton Fire Department. Smith was wanted on a 2013 Fulton County Warrant failure to appear for battery. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed for the warrant. Smith posted a $500 cash bond and was released after being given a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Glasford Woman Turns Self In To Canton Police (Canton, IL) -- A Glasford woman turned herself in on a valid warrant. Police say that 35-year old Suzanne M. Carpentier turned herself in on a 2008 Fulton County Warrant at the Canton Police Department. Carpentier posted a $250 cash bond and was then released. She has a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.
