Normal Fire Department Mourns Loss Of Firefighter

(Normal, IL) -- Firefighters in Normal are mourning the loss of one of their own. Authorities in Normal say that 48-year old Nicholas Whitfield, Jr. died at his home on Karen Street in Danvers on Tuesday morning. The McClean County Coroner says that the autopsy revealed that he had cardiac disease and they are ordering a toxicology test. Whitfield leaves behind a wife along with three adult children. He was an investigator with the Normal Fire Department.
