London Mills Teen Facing Drug Charges (Canton, IL) -- A London Mills teen is facing drug charges after Canton police conducted a traffic stop last week. Police say they made the stop after spotting a vehicle that was northbound on North Main Street Friday night at just after 8:30 that had a head light that was out. After making the stop near the intersection of North Main and Middle Park, the driver was identified as 19-year old Robert K. Sulteen. Sulteen was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis under 2.5 grams. He was also found to be in possession of a switchblade. Sulteen was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of cannabis under 2.5 grams and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on the charges. Sulteen posted a $150 cash bond and a $20 processing fee and was then released. He has a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Disturbance At Downtown Bar In Canton Leads To Arrest (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing charges after police were dispatched to a disturbance at a downtown Canton tavern. Police say they were dispatched to Jack's Bar Friday morning at about 12:30 on a battery complaint. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim, a 32-year old Canton female. After an investigation, police located 42-year old Derrell L. Whitmore in the area of East Elm Street and 5th Avenue. Whitmore was arrested and charged with battery. He was taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed on the charge. Whitmore was then given a notice to appear and was released after being given a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Canton Man Arrested For Valid Warrant (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man who was wanted on a valid warrant turned himself into police over the weekend. Police say that 23-year old Benjamin E. Bastian entered the Canton Police Department on Saturday night at just after 9 to speak with officers in regard to another complaint. While Bastian was at the police department, officers found that he was wanted on a 2012 Fulton County Warrant for a DUI. Bastian was then arrested and processed for the warrant. He was unable to post bond and Bastian was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Serial Killer Gets Four More Life Terms (Morrison, IL) -- Convicted serial killer Nicholas Sheley has been sentenced to four life sentences for four Illinois killings. Sheley was sentenced today for a May conviction for beating three adults and a two-year-old to death with a hammer in an apartment in the town of Morrison. Those murders were part of a series of eight killings Sheley allegedly committed in the summer of 2008 in Illinois, including Galesburg, and Missouri. He's already serving two life terms for killing two Illinois men in June of that year, but could be eligible for the death penalty when he's tried for the death of an Arkansas couple in Missouri. Man Found Dead In Davenport Of Suspected Gunshot (Davenport, IA) -- A man in Davenport is dead in what authorities believe could be a possible shooting. Police say they found the man unresponsive early Sunday morning at just after midnight on the 500 block of East 13th Street with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as Marcus Anthony Jones, of Davenport. Authorities in Davenport are investigating the incident as a homicide. Woman Attacked After Helping State's Attorney (Peoria, IL) -- A Peoria woman says she was attacked at her home by about six women for helping the State's Attorney's Office with a case. The 22-year-old female was in her Taft Homes apartment on Northeast Adams Street when she allowed a woman she knew into her home. The visitor tried to start a fight and was put out, but not before she pulled a knife and threatened to stab the female who lived in the apartment. The woman with the knife then forced her way in with five other women and attacked the woman inside. Police contacted the states attorney's office, which agreed to find new housing for the attack victim.
