Former State Representative Smith Passes Away

(Canton, IL) -- A former Illinois State Representative from Canton has passed away. Former State Representative Mike Smith died over the weekend. Smith served the 91st District that included Canton and much of Fulton County from 1995 to 2010. The Democrat died from a heart attack. He was a Canton native and was a graduate of Bradley University. Current 91st State House District Representative, Republican Mike Unes said that he was saddened to hear of the passing of the former State Representative Smith. Unes added that he always found Smith to be a kind and caring man who cared deeply about his public service. Smith was 48 years old and leaves behind his wife Donna, mother Betty and two older sisters.
