Soldiers Set To Arrive Home Tonight
(Peoria, IL) -- A group of soldiers are set to return home from a seven-month deployment tonight. Officials with the Illinois National Guard say the 18-men and women will now arrive in Peoria between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. tonight. The group has been working security missions and other law enforcement related details in southwest Asia, supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. Part of their job was to make improvements to the air base, boost security infrastructure, and advance the air base's physical and electronic force protection capabilities. The soldiers had been scheduled to return to Peoria Monday night but that were temporarily delayed until tonight.
