Tennesse Woman Facing Charges In Canton (Canton, IL) -- A woman from Tennessee is facing charges after Canton police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance over the weekend. Police say they were called to a home on Van Dyke Drive Sunday morning at just after 3:15 in regard to a disturbance involving two sisters in aphysical altercation. Polica say that one of the women left the residence and was stopped at the intersection of North Main Street and Van Dyke. She was a passenger in the vehicle and identified asf 35-year old Melinda K. McGraw of Gibson, Tennessee. Authorities say that McGraw was allegedly intoxicated. Another officer met with the victim, a 38-year old Canton female who had allegedly also been drinking. An investigation found that McGraw allegedly struck the victim in the face with the victim suffering from a laceration to the lip that was observed by officers. McGraw was arrested on a domestic battery charge and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed. She was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Canton Man Charged After Disturbance At Canton Home (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing charges after police were called to a home located on West Elm Street on the report of a man tearing up the house. Police were dispatched to the home Saturday night at about 11:50. Upon arrival to the home, police talked to the complainant. While talking to her, police say they could hear the man later identified as 34-year old Matthew I. White tearing things up inside the house. Upon entering the residents, police found that White had caused severe damage to the stairways railing. He was found to be unclothed and was allegedly intoxicated. Police attempted to restrain White but he was physically resisting them. The victim said that when White got home he couldn't get his key to fit the door and after finally getting inside the home, he then began causing the damage. The complainant told authorities that White had damaged the toilet to the point that the water had to be shut off. Authorities say that he continued to resist them all the way to the squad car. Police say that once inside the squad car, White then attempted to break a window of the car. He was taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on charges of resisting a peace officer and disorderly conduct. He was later taken to theFulton County Jail in Lewistown. Traffic Stop Leads To Canton Mans Arrest (Canton, IL) -- A traffic stop in Canton last week resulted in the arrest of a Canton man. Police say they observed a vehicle turning north onto North Main Street from Locust Street and failed to yield at the intersection. Police say that the driver was also not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the stop. The traffic stop was completed at the intersection of West Vine and Avenue A. The driver was identified as 52-year old Bruce A. Brown. Authorities say that Brown had allegedly been consuming alcohol. He was given several field sobriety tests which he allegedly failed. He was then arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on several charges, including the DUI as well as failure to wear a seatbelt and fialure to yield at an intersection. Brown posted his driver's license, a $100 cash bond and a $20 processing fee before being released. He has a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown.

Pekin Home Busted For Making Meth (Pekin, IL) -- Multiple law enforcement agencies discovered a home in Pekin that contained a meth lab. Agencies discovering the meth lab were the Pekin Police Department, Tazewell County Sheriff's Office and the C.I.E.R.T. Swat Team. The three agencies executed a search warrant after a tip was received about the location of the meth lab. Arrested were 37-year old Danni Sea and 30-year old Kari Sea. The pair were charged with allegedly supplying meth precursors and for also the use of property for the manu8facturing of meth. The two were taken to the Tazewell County Jail where there are beig held. The Illinois State Police Meth Response Team was dismantling the meth lab. Peoria Police Investigating Babies Death (Peoria, IL) -- Authorities in Peoria are investigating the death of an infant. The Coroner's office in Peoria County says that the baby identified as 8 month old Antonio Carpenter, Jr. died on Friday after being discovered in a bed with a sibling at his mother's apartment in Peoria. The child was put on life support after being taken to Children's Hospital of Illinois in Peoria until his death on Friday. An autopsy performed over the weekend discovered that Carpenter died from blunt force trauma to the head. Peoria police is investigating the babies death. Man Denied Bond After Sticking Needles In Meat (Belleville, IL) -- The man accused of sticking needles inside packages of meat at a grocery store will be staying in jail for now. A judge has denied Ronald Avers' request to get out on bond. He allegedly put needles inside seven packages of steak, ground beef, pork chops, and roast at a Shop-N-Save store in Belleville over the past year. Avers apparently told the federal agents that he did it "just for the hell of it."
