July Ties For Coldest July On Record

(Undated) -- Weather experts say this past July is tied for one of the coldest in Illinois history. State Climatologist Jim Angel says statewide precipitation for July was three-point-four-inches. That's more than a half an inch below normal. Champaign County received the most rain, while drier conditions were found in western and southern Illinois.
