Glasford Motorcycle Accident Victim Now Facing DUI Charge (Glasford, IL) -- The 68-year old man who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident near Glasford earlier this week has now been charged with DUI. James Schultheis was injured in the Monday night accident and when medics arrived at the scene of the accident, did not have a pulse. Authorities say that he did regain consciousness before he was taken by Life Flight helicopter to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Schultheis was northbound on his bike when he apparently left the road and then flipped several times. Authorities say that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Macomb Officer Facing Forgery Charge Resigns (Macomb, IL) -- A Macomb cop accused of forgery and fraud has handed in his badge. Police Chief Curt Barker says 35-year-old Officer Bill Kennedy came to the department on Wednesday to step down. The patrolman from Blandinsville is accused of taking someone's Illinois Link card and writing a check to himself from that person's account. Kennedy is out on three-thousand-dollars bond following his arrest on Monday. Chicago Exec Opens Fire On Boss (Chicago, IL) -- One man is dead after an on the job shooting in downtown Chicago. Officials say Tony DeFrances was angry that he'd been demoted and opened fire on his boss while they were in a one-on-one meeting yesterday. He shot him in the head and stomach, then took his own life. His boss, Steven LaVoie, is reportedly in critical condition at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Belleville Man Allegedly Put Needles In Meat (Belleville, IL) -- A Belleville man is locked up after allegedly putting sewing needles inside meat a grocery store. Officials at Shop-N-Save on North Belt West Road say they've had at least seven complaints since May of last year, one woman apparently bit into a needle while she was eating. An investigation led authorities to 68-year-old Ronald Avers. He's been charged with the crime and if convicted, he could spend up to 70-years in prison.
