Canton Man Facing Drug Related Charges (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing drug related charges after being arrested last week. Canton police say they observed a man urinating behind Jack's Bar in the alley Friday night at about 11:50. Officers say their investigation identified the man as 36-year old Robert D. Hillman. Hillman was found to be in possession of a hitter pipe used to smoke pot. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia as well as a city ordinance citation for public urination. He was given an notice to appear and released. Hillman has an August Fulton County Court date for the drug paraphernalia charge and a September Fulton County Court date for the public urination citation. Three Valid Warrants Lead To Canton Mans Arrest (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man wanted for three warrants was arrested over the weekend in Canton. Police say they responded to a disturbance in the 1300 block of East Locust Street Sunday night at just before 6:30. While investigating the disturbance they found that a man at the residence, 30-year old Paul E. Putney was wanted on a 2012 Peoria County Warrant, DUI; a 2013 Peoria County Traffic Warrant driving while suspended; and a 2014 Peoria County Traffic Warrant failure to appear driving while suspended. Putney was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed. He was unable to post bond and was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Traffic Stop Leads To Canton Mans Arrest (Canton, IL) -- A traffic stop in Canton over the weekend resulted in the arrest of a Canton man. Police say they made the stop Sunday morning at about 12:45 in the area of Pine Street and White Court after observing the vehicle leave a parking lot at Pine Street and 1st Avenue where the driver drove over the sidewalk. He then headed south on 1st, driving in the wrong lane. After making the stop, police identified the driver as 35-year old Chad A. Henderson. Henderson was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on charges of DUI, DUI over .08 and a city ordinance citation for driving on a sidewalk. He posted his driver's license, a $100 cash bond and a $20 processing fee and was released. Henderson has a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Canton Man Facing Several Charges After Traffic Stop (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing charges after Canton police conducted a traffic stop last week. Police say they observed a vehicle cross over the center line on East Locust Street in Canton and was able to make the stop near the intersection of 5th Avenue and Pine Street. After making the stop, authorities identified the driver as 59-year old Neil A. Nuhn. Nuhn was unable to provide police with proof of insurance. Officers also detected an odor of alcohol and conducted several field sobriety tests that he allegedly failed. Nuhn was then arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on charges of DUI, DUI over .08, driving a motor vehicle without proof of insurance and improper lane usage. He posted his driver's license, $100 cash bond and a $20 processing fee and was released. Nuhn has a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Sunday Accident Takes Life Of Peoria Woman (Mossville, IL) -- A single vehicle accident near Mossville over the weekend has left one person dead. Authorities say that the accident took the life of 53-year old Carol Franklin of Peoria. Franklin was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident Sunday afternoon at about 1:30. Authorities say the accident occurred on Illinois Route 6. Franklin's vehicle left the road and drove about 570 feet through grass before it struck a tree. Authorities say that Franklin did not have a seat belt on and that the air bag had deployed properly. Authorities say that she had partially ejected from the vehicle when they found her. The accident remains under investigation. Two Individuals Facing Sex Related Charges In Tazewell County (Pekin, IL) -- Authorities in Tazewell County arrested two people they believe are child sex offenders. 21-year old Cody Brown and 19-year old Judah Blunier, who are both from Morton, were arrested last week. Brown is facing charges of criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse. He is expected back in court next month. Blunier was ordered to be held in custody until a hearing is held on Friday. Prosecutors are looking at revoking the 48-month probation term that he received in February of 2013 for aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between 13 and 17. Both men were being held on $75,000 bonds. Accused Murderer Asks For New Judge (Rockford, IL) -- An Illinois man accused of killing two people wants a new judge on his case. Terence Doddy and his attorneys filed the motion yesterday but at this point, it’s not clear why they don’t like the judge. Doddy is facing 11 counts of murder after allegedly killed his co-worker at a Rockford call center last month, he then allegedly drove to a rest stop in Paw Paw, where he beat a woman to death and stole her car. Doddy was captured in Wisconsin a few days later and extradited back to Winnebago County.
