Cooler Late Summer/Fall Forecasted
(Undated) -- The latest long term forecast is predicting a cooler than normal late summer and fall in Illinois. July has already seen plenty of days with below normal temperatures, and state climatologist Jim Angel says the same is likely for the next few months. The average temperature for the first half of July was nearly 71 degrees, which is about five degrees below average. Statewide rainfall is 54-percent higher than normal, although Angel says a few spots, like Springfield and just north of Peoria are starting to get a little dry.
