West Nile Virus Bird In Peoria County
(Peoria, IL) -- The first bird that tested positive this year for West Nile Virus is in Peoria County. The disease is transmitted through a mosquito bite, where the insect first received the virus by feeding on an infected bird. Symptoms include fever, nausea, headache, and muscle pain. Four out of five people who contract the virus won't show any symptoms.
