Study: Many Travelers Don't Seek Health Advice Before Leaving

(Undated) -- A new study says many overseas travelers don't check with their doctor before leaving. Dr. Jonathan Leizman is an expert on travel medicine. He says most people would benefit from a routine medical screening and getting the necessary shots. Researchers found over half of their study participants didn't see a physician before setting off. Many said they didn't know they should. Others said they already knew what to do if illness hit them.
