CPD Chief McDowell Taking Part In Institute
(Canton, IL) -- Canton Police Chief Kent McDowell has been chosen as one of several law enforcement executives from across Illinois to participate in the Illinois Law Enforcement Leadership Institute on Violence Against Women. It’s hosted by The International Association of Chiefs of Police. During the four-day Institute taking place in Fairview Heights, Illinois, Chief McDowell, along with the other selected participants, will explore innovative approaches for investigating crimes of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and stalking. Additional attention will center on assessing agency performance and sharing challenges and solutions with law enforcement colleagues. Through the Institute experience, IACP intends to raise the response to violence against women crimes higher on law enforcement's agenda and support the adoption of best practices by the officers in the Canton Police Department.
