Blagojevich Revises Appeal
(Chicago, IL) -- Attorneys for Rod Blagojevich are adding one more reason to their arguments for overturning the corruption conviction of the former governor. A new filing in federal court in Chicago yesterday cites an April Supreme Court decision striking down laws that restrict aggregate limits on campaign contributions. The revised appeal also notes the high court's ruling that asking for campaign contributions is criminal only if a politician makes a clear promise of an official action in exchange, something they say Blagojevich never did.
