Tazewell County Authorities Release Identity Of Man Killed In Weekend Accident (East Peoria, IL) -- A fatal accident that took place over the weekend in Tazewell County took the life of a former Farmington resident. The Tazewell County Coroner’s Office says that the man killed in the accident was 23-year old Matthew McDonald, Jr., now of East Peoria. East Peoria police say the single vehicle accident happened at the intersection of Meadows Avenue and Pleasant Hill Road in East Peoria. An autopsy was performed on Monday by the Peoria County Coroner's Office. Authorities say that the preliminary cause of death is pending toxicology results. The accident is being investigated by the East Peoria Police Department and the Illinois State Police. Canton Woman Wanted On Warrants Arrested (Canton, IL) -- A Canton woman wanted on two separate warrants was arrested over the weekend in Canton. Police say they were dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of East Myrtle Street Saturday morning at just before 7:45 on the report of a disturbance. Upon arrive they found 28-year old Ashley I. Donahoe. She was wanted on a 2009 Fulton County Body Attachment Warrant and a 2009 Fulton County Traffic Warrant for a parking ticket. She was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where she was processed for the warrants. She was then released after posting a $300 cash bond and a $20 processing fee and given a pending August Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Valid Warrant Leads To Arrest Of Canton Man (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man was arrested over the weekend for being wanted on a valid warrant. Police say they arrested 34-year old Mark W. McCallister at the Country Club Apartment Complex located at 55 East Cypress Street. McCallister was wanted on a 2014 Fulton County Traffic Warrant for failure to appear leaving the scene of an accident and for a 2014 Mason County Warrant failure to appear for speeding. McCallister was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed for the warrants. He was unable to post bond and later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Canton Man Arrested After Drinking Alcohol Outside Of A Downtown Bar (Canton, IL) -- A Farmington man was arrested after he was found drinking outside of a Canton bar over the weekend. Canton police say they observed 50-year old Gregory A. Gilmore standing at the corner just outside of Jack's Bar with a plastic cub in his hand that had alcohol in it and drinking from the cup. Officers identified the man as Gilmore. He was cited with a city ordinance violation of public drinking. Gilmore was given a notice to appear at the scene and released. He will have 14 days to pay a $100 fine or will have a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Peoria Fire Tuesday Afternoon Remains Under Investigation (Peoria, IL) -- A Tuesday afternoon house fire in Peoria continues to be investigated. Authorities say that the fire occured in the 1500 block of North North Street. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire was coming from a bedroom window on the first floor. Firefighters knocked the fire down quickly but found heat and smoke damage to most of the first floor. Authorities say that everyone was able to get out safely. The American Red Cross is helping the occupants of the home with lodging. The cause of the fire remains undetermined but it caused an estimated $20,000 in damage. No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.
