Pekin City Council Votes To Rezone Old West Campus

(Pekin, IL) -- A Dollar General Store is one step closer to being built in the location of the old West Campus in Pekin. On Monday night, the Pekin City Council approved the location of the old West Campus for rezoning. The vote Monday night was 6-1. It was in opposition of the Pekin Planning Commissions vote. The commission voted against rezoning the site. Although the vote does put Dollar General Store one step closer being able to be built at the old West Campus, it doesn't mean that it will be.
