Treasurer’s Office Reminds Residents Real Estate Taxes First Installment Due At End Of Week
(Lewistown, IL) -- The Treasurer of Fulton County is reminding all Fulton County taxpayers that the first installment of taxes will be due at the end of this week. Victoria J. Harper says that the timely tax payments must be made in the office of the Collector before 4 p.m. on Friday, in the drop box at the court house by 2 p.m. or postmarked by July 18th. Taxes may also be made at most county banks until their normal closing time on July 18th. Payments may also be made with most major credit cards in the Collector's office and via internet E-Pay program at the www.illinoisepay.com website or you can E-Pay IVR at 1-877-690-3729. Please us JCODE 70122. There will be a use fee assessed in order to pay with your credit card. You will be given the fee amount prior to completing the payment process. State Statutes mandate that late payments after the July 18th due date shall incur a late penalty of 1 1/2-percent per month or portion thereof. Also directed by Statutes, after the second installment payments have been balanced in the computer system, certified letters and publication of delinquent taxes will be made in mid-September with an additional fee of $10 per parcel to cover these costs. The Fulton County annual delinquent real estate and mobile home tax sale will be held on Friday, October 17th at 9 a..m. All payments must be received in the Treasurer's office no later than October 16th to avoid sale of taxes.
