Quinn Sends In Marine To Run Veterans' Affairs

(Springfield, IL) -- A U.S. Marine who served in Iraq and Afghanistan is now the acting director of the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs. Rodrigo Garcia has been assistant director for three years, and replaces Erica Borggren, who was named by Governor Quinn to head the Department of Transportation. Garcia, from Chicago, has post-graduate degrees from UIC and Northwestern University.
