Two Canton Residents Facing Drug Charges After Canton Police Execute Search Warrant (Canton, IL) -- Two Canton residents are facing drug charges after police executed a search warrant last week in Canton. Authorities say they executed the warrant on Thursday morning at 6:50 a.m. at the home located at 313 West Pine Street. The investigation was the result of a complaint of a lot of traffic that was going in and out of the residence. Arrested were 40-year old Carrie M. Weller and 19-year old Corrie N. Weller. Charges filed against Carrie Weller was unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver over 30 grams but under 500 grams, a class 3 felony, and unlawful production of cannabis plants, a class 4 felony.. Corrie Weller was charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after police found him in possession of a glass bowl used to smoke marijuana. The two were taken to the Canton Police Department where they were processed on the charges. Corrie Weller posted a $150 cash bond and a $20 processing fee before being released with a pending Fulton County Court date. Carrie Weller was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Canton Woman Cited After Incident At Canton Apartment Complex (Canton, IL) -- A Canton woman was cited after Canton police were dispatched to an apartment complex located on the north end of Canton. Police say they were dispatched to Country Club Apartments Thursday night at just after 11 for a disturbance. Authorities say upon arrival they found that a woman was yelling expletives as well as racial slurs in the presence of other residents of the complex as well as children. Police told 30-year old Danielle M. Shores to stop but she continued to yell. She was then cited with disorderly conduct. She was taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed and was then given a notice to appear and released. Shores has a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Fatal Accident Over The Weekend In East Peoria Being Investigated (East Peoria, IL) -- Authorities in East Peoria are continuing to investigate a fatal accident that occurred over the weekend. Police say the accident occurred at the intersection of Meadow Avenue and South Pleasant Hill Road. Authorities are currently notifying the family of the victim. Police have not released any other details about the accident at this point.
