Pekin City Council To Decide On Site Plan Of Store

(Pekin, IL) -- The Pekin Planning Commission was not able to vote Wednesday night to decide for a site plan for a new Dollar General Store that is wanting to located on the property of the former West Campus of Pekin High School. The reason no vote could be taken was there was not a quorum of committee members attending the meeting. In February, the old West Campus building was torn down. The land that the old West Campus is on, is being held in trust. City officials say they don't know who owns the property. As a result of no vote being taken last night, the Pekin City Council will be voting on the site plan as well as rezoning of property at Monday night's City Council meeting.
