Crops In Good Condition

(Springfield, IL) -- The latest crop report from the USDA shows that Illinois crops are in good shape. Crop statistician Mark Scheulesener says corn is doing especially well. As for soybeans, 75-percent are in good to excellent condition. Farmers continue to make progress on the winter wheat harvest. Scheulesener says 82-percent of the crop has been harvested. That's ahead of the five-year average of 79-percent, and well ahead of where the harvest was a year ago when it was 65-percent complete.
