4-H Members Participate In Performing Arts Project

(Lewistown, IL) -- The 17th annual 4-H Performing Arts Night was held last month at the Presbyterian Church in Lewistown. In all, nine 4-H members participated in this event that was coordinated by Janis Blout, Extension Program Coordinator, 4-H Youth Development. Judge for the evening was Amanda Samson, a music teacher in Dallas City. Junior Best of Show honors went to Emma Howerter, who played piano. Senior Best of Show honors went to the duet of Kaitlyn Spangler and Ryan Spangler. Ryan played the banjo while they sang "Wagon Wheel" together. The other performers included four pianist, one who also sang, and two vocalist. 4-H members participating where Halee Hendel, Ashley Howerter, Hannah Spangler, Jenna Spangler, Kyle Spangler and Hannah Stevenson. Participants were judged on stage presence, performance ability, volume and clarity, appropriateness of attire, requirements having been met and overall impression.
