Non-Emergency Roadwork Suspended

(Springfield, IL) -- IDOT is suspending most non-emergency roadwork for the holiday weekend. That should make travel a bit smoother, but drivers are still required to drive the posted speed limits. The limits usually drop to about 45 or 55-miles per hour in work zones, even when workers aren't on site. Drivers caught speeding through the work zones could be ticketed and forced to pay a fine of at least 375-bucks.
