Police Seeking Murder Suspect (Sterling, IL) -- The Illinois State Police are looking for a man wanted in connection to a killing at a rest stop on Interstate 39. A worker found 44-year-old Tonya Bargman of Monticello dead at the Willow Creek rest stop Tuesday night. A surveillance video showed Bargman leaving the rest room and being attacked by a man. Police identified him as 36-year-old Terence Doddy of Rockford. He's also wanted for a murder that happened on June 30th in Rockford. Doddy was last seen leaving the rest stop in Bargman's gray 2013 Nissan Altima. Farmington Woman Facing Drug and Theft Charges (Canton, IL) -- A Farmington woman is facing charges after Canton police were dispatched to a residence located on West Walnut Street last week. Police say they arrested 39-year old Tracy D. Belew last Friday after an investigation determined that she had taken medication and food from the residence on Tuesday of last week. She was taken to the Canton Police Department where she was processed on a charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and with theft under $500. She was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Retail Theft Charges Filed Against One Suspect, Another Being Looked For (Canton, IL) -- One of two suspects in a retail theft case in Canton has been arrested. Police say that the theft occurred on Wednesday morning, June 18th at Eastside Liquor on North 11th Avenue. The owner of the business told him that two males left the store with a bottle of Seargrams Extra Dry Gin that was valued at $14.99. After reviewing video surveillance, officers identified one of the men as 19-year old Zachary K. Mahr of Canton. He was arrested on Tuesday of last week on a retail theft Charge. Mahr was processed at the Canton Police Department and given a notice to appear and released. He has a July Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. The second man has been identified as 33-year old Daniel L. Williams, also of Canton. Police are still looking for Williams. Warrant Leads To Arrest of Canton Man (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man wanted on a valid warrant was arrested earlier this week in Canton. Police say they conducted a traffic stop in the area of 6th Avenue and Anderson Place on Monday night at just after 8:30 for the vehicle not having a registration light. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 33-year old Samuel E. Chambers. He was wanted on a 2014 Fulton County Traffic Warrant for failure to appear driving with a suspended driver's license. Chambers was taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed. After posting a $150 cash bond and a $20 processing fee, Chambers was released with a July Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Urbana Teen Charged With Shooting 8-year-old (Urbana, IL) -- A 15-year-old teen in Urbana has been charged with shooting his eight-year-old nephew in the head. He's been charged as a juvenile with reckless discharge of a firearm. The teen told police that a backpack fell from a table and that caused a flare gun to fire and hit the child. The teen has been released to the custody of his mother. The eight-year-old remains hospitalized.
