(Peoria, IL) -- Members of a Peoria church that closed its doors over the weekend will have a chance to transfer to Forest Hills' United Methodist Church. Madison Avenue United Methodist Church held its last service on Sunday. The 120-year-old ministry hasn't been able to support itself due to dwindling attendance. Meanwhile, New Beginnings Ministries will continue to run a food pantry in the Madison Avenue church building, as well as other outreach programs. It can also hold service inside the church's sanctuary in the near future.
