Canton Man Charged With Underage Drinking (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing charges of underage drinking after being arrested last week in Canton. Police say they were dispatched to what was believed to be a possible underage drinking party Friday morning at just after 1:15. Police say as they were arriving at the residence in the 300 block of West Olive Street they observed several lawn chairs in the yard as well as a small fire in a pit. They also found open alcohol on tables as well as an odor of alcohol. Officers at the scene say they tried to make contact with the residents of the home but no one would come to the door. Officers then observed a male subject jump out of a tree. Police made contact with the subject, who had an odor of alcohol coming from him. He was identified as 20-year old Jesse D. Mulligan. He was arrested and charged with a city ordinance violation of consumption of alcohol by a minor. He will have 14 days to pay a fine or if he does not pay the fine he will have a September Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Officers say that they did leave a message for the owners of the home about the possible underage drinking party. The owner of the home was out of town. Dunlap Rollover Accident Injures Woman (Peoria, IL) -- Authorities in Peoria County are investigating a rollowever accident that happened in Dunlap last week that ejected the driver. Authorities say that the accident occured on Illinois Route 91 Friday afternoon. The woman was southbound near the intersection of Dorita and Dunlap when she lost control of her vehicle and was thrown from it.. She was taken to OSF-St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria to be treated for injuries suffered in the accident.
