New Tobacco Education Campaign Encourages Smokers To Quit
(Undated) -- You'll soon be hearing and seeing ads that are part of the second year of a national tobacco education campaign. They're part of another attempt by the Centers for Disease Control to get people to quit smoking. The CDC's Dr. Tim McAfee says the campaign produced encouraging results last year. Dr. McAfee says this year's campaign adds details of smoking effects like gum disease and tooth loss, pre-term labor during pregnancy and increased chances of stroke in people with HIV.
