Ballot Proposal Given More Time To Validate Signature

(Chicago, IL) -- The verdict is still out on whether voters in Fulton County and the rest of the state will be given a chance to decide on how legislative districts are drawn. A bi-partisan group turned in over 500-thousand-signatures to get the measure on the ballot, but an initial review didn't meet approval. The State Board of Education gave the group more time to meet the threshold. Now, they're going through a hearing process which will give them a chance to provide evidence and show that their signatures are valid. If all goes as planned, voters will decide whether the redistricting process should be taken out of the hands of lawmakers and into the hands of an independent group.
