Canton Fire Electrical (Canton, IL) -- Fire investigators say that a fire Tuesday night in Canton was of electrical in nature. Firefighters from the Canton Fire Department were dispatched to 130 West Olive Street in Canton on the report of a basement fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the front door and the roof of the residence. Upon entry to the main floor and the basement, they were found to be smoke filled. Authorities say they located the fire coming from the outside corner of the south west wall of the residence. Additional man power were called in with off-duty firefighters reporting to the scene. Firefighters then opened the wall and were able to extinguish the fire in about 10 minutes. Fire investigators say that the fire was electrical. The Canton Police Department, Fulton County Emergency Medical Association and Ameren assisted the Canton Fire Department. Suspect In Peoria's Second Homicide Of Year Indicted (Peoria, IL) -- The suspect in the murder of the son of Peoria Manual's Basketball Coach has been indicted. A Peoria County Grand Jury indicted 37-year old Sean Walls in connection with the homicide of 22-year old Derrick Booth, Jr., on Tuesday. Authorities say that Booth was found shot in the chest last month in the 800 block of South Greenlawn. Walls is expected back in Peoria County Circuit Court tomorrow to answer the indictment. Coroner's Jury Rules Boys Death An Accident (Peoria, IL) -- The death of a Peoria boy in May o the north side of the River City has been ruled as a accident by a Peoria County Coroner's jury. The jury reached the ruling on Tuesday in connection with the death of 11-year old Trever Chick. Chick was a 5th grade student at Lincoln Middle School in Peoria. He died of blunt force head and neck injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Northeast Monroe. Police say he was attempting to cross the street between a CityLink bus and another vehicle when he was struck by the second vehicle, a pickup truck that was pulling a trailer.
