Canton Teen Charged With Battery (Canton, IL) -- A Canton teen is facing charges after an incident that occurred over the weekend at a gas station along North 5th Avenue. Canton police say they were dispatched to Casey's General Store located at 125 North 5th Avenue on Saturday night at just after 10:30. Officers say upon arrival they met with the victim, a 19-year old Canton male who told them that he had been approached by a female identified as 19-year old Zoe K. Yerbic. Yerbic allegedly spit in his face and then also struck the victim in the face. Yerbic then left the scene. Police located her at about 11:15 Saturday night in the area of North Main and Lakeland where they conducted a traffic stop. She was then arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where she was processed on a battery charge. Yerbic posted a $150 cash bond and a $20 processing fee and was released with a July Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Yerbic's vehicle was also towed from the scene after her arrest. Canton Man Arrested On Warrant (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man wanted on a valid warrant was arrested after police saw a man who was acting suspicious on North Main Street. Police stopped the man, identified as 21-year old Tommy L. Tharp while he was walking. An investigation found that Tharp was wanted on a 2011 Fulton County Misdemeanor Warrant, failure to appear pay order retail theft. He was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed on the warrant. Tharp was unable to post bond and was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Shooting Trial Of Teen Continues Today (Peoria, IL) -- A teen from Peoria, charged in connection with a shooting that occurred near Manual High School, is now on trial. Authorities say that 19-year old Darell Booker was part of the Zone Four street gang and was charged with aggravated battery, aggravated discharge of a firearm as well as unlawful possession of a firearm. Peoria police say that the victim was a 15-year old and that the victim was shot behind the school. Authorities say that the victim suffered from multiple gunshot wounds. Booker's trial will continue today. Pekin Mans Sentencing Continued To October In Federal Court1st (Peoria, IL) -- Sentencing of a Pekin man in U.S. Federal Court in Peoriiii has been continue 23-year old Anthony Mansini was scheduled to be sentenced last Friday after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sell heroin charges. The sentence was continued though to October 16. Authorities say that Mansini was part of a heroin ring that distributed thousands of doses of heroin in to the Pekin area from 2008 to 2012.
