Class Reunion Turns Deadly (East Peoria, IL) -- Three people are dead after a gunman opened fire in a bar where a class reunion was being held. Police in East Peoria say a man walked into The Fifth Quarter Sports Bar and Pizzeria and shot his ex-wife, Lori Moore of Morton and her boyfriend, Lance Griffel of Peoria, in the head just before 8:00 Saturday night. An off-duty police officer on the scene fired his gun and killed the suspect, Jason Moore of Creve Coeur. The East Peoria Community High School Class of 1999 was holding its class reunion in the bar at the time of the shooting. Father Of Son Who Died In 2013 Reaches Plea Agreement With Authorities (Peoria, IL) -- The father of a Peoria High School student that died in February of last year was in Peoria County Circuit Court on Friday to enter a plea. Darnell Hunter, Senior entered a guilty plea to involuntary manslaughter and criminal neglect of a disabled person. Prosecutors agreed to cap Hunter’s sentence at 12 years when sentencing takes place in late August as part of a plea bargain. His trial was set to begin this week. Authorities say that Hunter failed to provide adequate nutrition and medical treatment to his son, Darnell Hunter, Jr., as his caregiver. Homeless Teen Arrested In Connection With Hold Up Of East Peoria’s Culver’s (East Peoria, IL) -- Authorities in Tazewell County say that a homeless teen was arrested Friday by East Peoria police in connection with the robbery of Culver’s last week. Police say they arrested 18-year old Dominique Johnson at about noon on Friday in the city overflow parking lot on Conference Center Drive. Authorities say Johnson allegedly used an armed handgun in the incident and ordered people in the restaurant to get on the ground and stay where they were while the incident was taking place. The suspect got away with an unknown amount of money Thursday night during the holdup. He was taken into custody Friday at about noon. Kidnap Suspect Nabbed In Texas (Houston, TX) -- The 19-year-old woman who was kidnapped outside of a JCPenney's store in Champaign is safe. Her ex-boyfriend allegedly forced her to get inside a pickup truck outside the store last week, then drove to Texas. Police picked him up in Houston on Saturday. He's facing charges for aggravated battery.
