Quinn Plans To Sign Same Day Registration Bill
(Chicago, IL) -- Governor Quinn is denying claims that Democrats are trying to boost their turnout at the polls this November by changing the registration rules. Some people will be allowed to register on Election Day. They'd also have more time to cast early ballots and they won't be required to show a picture ID when they do that. Republicans have slammed Democrats over the hasty change, which was pushed through the legislature in the final days before session wrapped up on May 31st. Governor Quinn says the whole idea is to make sure people can take full advantage of their right to vote.
