Fire At Vacant Home In Peoria Causes Extensive Damage

(Peoria, IL) -- A fire in a vacant home on the south side of Peoria is continuing to be looked into. Firefighters say they responded to the home in the 2200 block of Howett at about 5:30 Sunday morning. Upon arrival, firefighters found the fire in the front room of the home, where they believe it started, and that it had extended into the basement The damge estimate is believed to be at about $10,000. Just what caused the fire remains undetermined.
