Pekin Man Sentenced For March Stabbing (Pekin, IL) -- A Pekin man arrested in March for allegedly stabbing three people that sent them to the hospital was in Tazewell County Circuit Court on Thursday. 29-year old Andrew Bohnert entered a guilty plea on Thursday to charges of home invasion, aggravated battery as well as criminal damage to property. A charge of attempted murder was dropped as part of a plea bargain. Bohnert was then sentenced to six years in prison. Authorities say that the stabbings occurred in March of this year in the 1500 block of Mechanic Street in Pekin. Authorities say the fight occurred as the result of a domestic disturbance. Pekin Man Sentenced In Peoria Federal Court On Mail Fraud Charges (Peoria, IL) -- A Pekin man was in U.S. Federal Court in Peoria on Thursday facing mail fraud charges. 57-year old Larry Snell was sentenced to 27 months of prison time. Authorities say that Snell was also ordered to repay over $157,000 in restitution. The federal indictment claimed that Snel bought gold for Jewelry on Water but purchases were actually for personal use. Teen Charged After Pointing Fake Gun At School (Belleville, IL) -- A Belleville teenager is in trouble with the law after pointing a fake gun at West High School. Officials say 18-year-old Vantezz Carter was in an SUV yesterday when he pointed the gun out the window, toward a group of football players. A witness reported the incident to cops and when they caught up with the SUV, they found five sir soft guns inside. Police say those could easily be mistaken as real guns. Carter is charged with disorderly conduct.
