Quinn Not Pleased With Budget
(Springfield, IL) -- Governor Pat Quinn isn't too thrilled with the budget plan that's on his desk. He says it cuts vital services and fails to pay down old bills. The budget is worth about 35-billion dollars and pretty much holds spending flat across the board, but Quinn was banking on getting at least three-billion-more than that. He wanted to keep the five-percent income tax rate in place to bring in the extra cash but lawmakers were hesitant to vote for that ahead of the election.
