Discovery Of Body In Old Farmington High School Continues To Be Investigated (Farmington, IL) -- Authorities in Farmington are still looking into the discovery of a body in the old Farmington High School. The body was discovered two weeks after the fire that destroyed the front portion of the structure that was built in 1925. The building was currently The Old School Center, and was being used for religious and family retreats as well as some classroom space and other businesses in the back portion of the building. The body was found after the owner of the building detected an odor coming from the third floor of the building. A search resulted in the discovery of the body, which has been determined to be a male body. An autopsy was performed on Friday on the body. The Fulton County Coroner's Office says that the man died from inhalation of combustion products due to a building fire. The identity of the man is still unknown pending further investigation by the coroner's office. Body Discovered Saturday Near Peoria Is That Of Missing Peoria Woman (Peoria, IL) -- Authorities in Peoria County have confirmed that the body found over the weekend off of Galena Road is that of a missing Peoria woman. Authorities say that the body of Terri Anderson was found in a drainage ditch in the 6500 block of Galena Road Saturday afternoon at about three by a passerby. An autopsy revealed that she had been strangled to death. Authorities say that Anderson was last seen on the evening of May 18th by her ex-husband who says that he dropped her off at her apartment. The Peoria County Coroner's office says they are awaiting the results of a toxicology test. Weekend Accident Injures Peoria Child (Peoria, IL) -- An accident involving a child being hit by a car late last week sent the child to the hospital. Police say that the accident happened Friday night at about 5 in the 200 block of Archer Avenue just off of Knoxville. The 5-year old child was playing in a front yard at a residence when the child tried to cross Archer behind an SUV. After being struck, the child was then taken to Children's Hospital of Illinois to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
