Quinn Anti-Violence Program Under Microscope
(Springfield, IL) -- Governor Quinn's anti-violence program will be under the microscope today. A panel of lawmakers will grill his administrative leaders over how they handled the now defunct Neighborhood Recovery Program, which pumped more than 50-million-dollars into high crime areas just before the 2010 election. The state's auditor general will also be at the hearing in Springfield. He uncovered discrepancies within the program, realizing that some of the money was unaccounted for and that the spouses of high powered public officials were lining their pockets with NRI money.
