Pennsylvania Men Facing Drug Charges In Canton (Canton, IL) -- Two men from Pennsylvania are facing drug charges after being arrested following a traffic stop in Canton last week. Canton police say they conducted the stop of the vehicle after seeing that one of its headlights was out. The stop was made on West Locust Street near the intersection with Avenue D. Two passengers in the vehicle were identified as 21-year old Dylan A. Tristani of Dunbar, Pennsylvania and the other as 21-year old Michael J. Pancella of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Tristani was found to be in possession of two plastic baggies containing a white substance thought to be cocaine. Pancella was found to be in possession of a bag believed to have heroin in it. Both were arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where they were both processed on separate charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Both Tristani and Pancella were later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges Against Canton Teen (Canton, IL) -- A Canton teen is facing drug charges following a traffic stop that took place last week in Canton. Police say they stopped the vehicle in the 900 block of North Main Street Friday night at just before 7 for not having a front registration place on the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 18-year old Dakota C. Snook. Police detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. An investigation resulted in the finding of a piece of paper that is believed to have acid on it. They also found drug paraphernalia in Snook's purse. Snook was then arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department where she was processed on the charges. Snook was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Incident In Front Of Downtown Bar In Canton Results In Arrest Of Two Men (Canton, IL) -- Two Canton men are facing charges after an incident at a downtown Canton tavern over the weekend. Canton police say they responded to a disturbance that was taking place in front of Jack's Bar Saturday morning at about 12:45. Police say officers arriving at the scene found two men wresting on the sidewalk in front of the bar. Authorities say they arrested 24-year old Evan E. L. Smith and 44-year old Richard R. Kelly on charges of a city ordinance violation for disorderly conduct. Both men were given a notice to appear and released at the scene. The two will have 14-days to pay a fine to the city or they will then have a July Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Canton Women Arrested On Valid Warrant (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man wanted on a valid was arrested over the weekend in Canton. Police say that officers ran a routine registration check on a vehicle near Ash Street and 11th Avenue Sunday afternoon at just after 4:15 after spotting the vehicle had a cracked windshield. The check found that the owner of the vehicle was wanted on a warrant. After making the stop, police identified the driver as the owner, 37-year old Justin W. Frew. Frew was wanted on a 2012 Fulton County Traffic Warrant, failure to appear for reckless driving. Frew was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed. He posted a $500 cash bond and a $20 processing fee before being released. Frew was given a June Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Warrant Results In Canton Mans Arrest (Canton, IL) -- Canton police arrested a Canton man on East Walnut Street in Canton who was wanted on a valid warrant. Canton police and deputies from the Fulton County Sheriff's Office located 32-year old Paul W. Slater at 806 East Walnut Friday afternoon at just after noon. Slater was wanted on a 2012 Fulton County Warrant, failure to appear for possession of drug paraphernalia. Slater was taken to the Canton Police Department where he was processed. After being unable to post bond, Slater was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. Suspect In Weekend Homicide Turns Self In (Peoria, IL) -- The suspect wanted in connection with the shooting death of the son of Manual High Schools basketball coach has turned himself in. 37-year old Sean T. Walls turned himself in to Peoria police on Monday. Authorities say that Walls, allegedly shot and killed 22-year old Derrick Booth, Jr., in the 800 block of South Greenlawn early Saturday morning. Police say they received several calls in connection with the shooting. Upon arrival, police found Booth, Jr. had been shot in the chest. He was transported to OSF-St. Francis Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Booth, Jr., is the son of Derrick Booth, Sr., the head basketball coach at Manual. The investigation into the shooting is continuing by police in Peoria. Grease Left On Stove Believed To Have Caused Chillicothe Fire (Chillicothe, IL) -- Fire investigators in Chillicothe believe that a kitchen accident is what caused a fire at a mobile home park over the weekend. Authorities say they responded to Pinewood Estates Sunday night. Investigators believe that the resident of the mobile home allegedly forgot grease that was on the stove and that’s how the fire started. No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze. The mobile home was destroyed as a result of the fire.
