Greenville Man Charged With Retail Theft (Canton, IL) -- A Canton man is facing retail theft charges after police were dispatched to a store in the along North 5th Avenue earlier this week. Police say they were dispatched to Casey's General Store Monday at noon. An employee of ;the store say that a man had entered the store to buy a 12 pack of beer but when the man went to purchase the beer he told the employee that he didn't have the money to pay for it and asked if he could come back the next day to pay for the 12 pack. The employee told the man that he would not be able to do that but the man left the store with the beer anyway. Police located the man and identified him as 48-year old Todd P. McGurk. He was arrested and charged with retail theft. McGurk was given a notice to appear and was released at his residence. He was given a June Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. Disturbance At Downtown Canton Bar Leads To Arrest Of Canton Woman (Canton, IL) -- A Canton woman is facing charges after police were dispatched to a disturbance taking place at a downtown bar earlier this week. Officers were sent to Jack's Bar Tuesday afternoon at about 4 for the disturbance where two women were allegedly arguing. After reviewing video, police say they found that 27-year old Jessica Van Dyke was the female that was acting aggressively toward the other woman. Van Dyke was given a city ordinance citation for disorderly conduct. She has 14 days to pay the fine for the charge. If she does not pay the fine, she will have a July Fulton County Court date in Lewistown. In the meantime, police found that Van Dyke was wanted on a valid 2013 Fulton County Warrant for contempt of court. She was arrested and taken to the Canton Police Department to be processed for the warrant. Van Dyke was unable to post bond for the warrant and was later taken to the Fulton County Jail in Lewistown. East Bluff Shooting Results In Three Being Taken To Hospitals (Peoria, IL) -- Authorities in Peoria are looking into a shooting in the East Bluff that resulted in three people being taken to the hospital. Police say they were dispatched to the area of the 800 block of East Arcadia Wednesday afternoon on the report of shots being fired. Authorities say that two of the victims were shot in the leg after violence led to a fist fight. Witnesses told police that four men walked up with one pulling out a gun and began shooting. They told police that at least 20 shots were fired. Police say they found over two dozen shell casings at the crime scene. Peoria police are currently questioning witnesses to the shooting which remains under investigation. McClean County Grand Jury Indicts Passenger In Fatal Accident (Bloomington, IL) -- A Grand Jury in McClean County has indicted a passenger that was a passenger in a vehicle that was struck by another vehicle in a fatal accident earlier this year has been indicted. A McClean County Grand Jury indicted 24-year old Orlando Jone on Wednesday. Jones has been charged with two counts of obstructing justice in connection with that fatal accident that took the life of Michael Collins of Normal, who was a student at Illinois State University. Police claim that the driver of the vehicle, Jamie Webb of Bloomington had been drinking when she ran a red light, striking a car that Collins was in. Webb has been charged with five counts of aggravated DUI. Jones bond has been set at $50,000. He is due back in McClean County Circuit Court in Bloomington on Friday. Businesses Cited For Selling Booze To Teens (Beardstown, IL) -- Several Cass and Macon County businesses are in trouble for allegedly selling alcohol to minors. The Illinois Liquor Control Commission conducted compliance checks in April for 240 establishments statewide and found 42 alleged violators. Cited In Cass County, the 88 Bar and Grill, La Purisma and Save-A-Lot in Beardstown. Also found allegedly selling alcoholic beverages to underage teens was Cenex Convenience in Virginia. In Macon County, alleged violators included Crawford Pizza and Pub in Maroa and Da Burgers Bar and Grill in Warrensburg.
