IHSA On Hot Seat In Springfield

(Springfield, IL) -- The drama over the IHSA's transparency issues is taking center stage in Springfield. The agency director, Marty Hickman was grilled by lawmakers on Tuesday but Representative Mike Unes from East Peoria says that was uncalled for because the IHSA isn't a state agency. Critics say the IHSA needs to reevaluate their question-writing system for the scholastic bowl, and put experts in place to identify when questions are taken from other sources. Lawmakers also grilled the IHSA on why some of their employees are earning six-figure salaries, how they handle their money, and why the boys' state basketball tournament is being held in Peoria instead of Chicago.
