Boating Safety Being Promoted In Illinois
(Undated) -- Illinois is launching a new campaign to help promote boating safety. The effort includes radio ads and tips on safe boating. Illinois Department of Natural Resources spokesperson Chris Young says last year 50 people were injured and 14 died in boating accidents in the state. While DNR advises everyone to wear a life jacket, it's the law for kids under 13 on a boat and everyone riding a jet-ski. And Young reminds conservation police will be on the lookout for drunk boaters all summer.
