Quinn Planning Bi-Centennial Celebrations

(Chicago, IL) -- The state of Illinois is turning 200-years old. Governor Quinn has already started planning a big celebration. He's signed an Executive Order to create the 2018 Illinois Bicentennial Commission, a grass-roots organization that will plan a year-long shindig, complete with events and activities in communities all across the state. The members of the commission will be named in the coming months. Illinois' officially birthday will be on December 18th 2018.
